Warped Moon Garden Especial

In 2018, Warped Cigars released Moon Garden; in 2023, Warped will release Moon Garden Especial.

The new Moon Garden Especial is a 5 5/8 x 52 toro—the original Moon Garden was a 7 x 40 lancero—and the different size has led to some tweaks to the blend, specifically adding medio tiempo to the blend. Like the original Moon Garden, the Especial uses a Nicaraguan corojo 99 wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and fillers from Nicaragua. All of the tobacco used comes from AGANORSA and the blend is made at AGANORSA’s Agricola Ganadera Norteña S.A. factory in Estelí.

Warped has set the MSRP at $16 per cigar and production is limited to 1,000 boxes of 20 cigars, which will begin shipping at the end of August.

Medio tiempo is a priming of tobacco—the way a plant is divided into sections vertically—that is found above the ligero priming, typically the highest priming. It’s only found on certain plans and only some growers go through the effort of classifying it separately from ligero. Given its position on the plant, if a plant has medio tiempo tobacco growing on it, that tobacco should be the strongest tobacco from that plant. In recent years, a variety of manufacturers have marketed their cigars as explicitly containing medio tiempo tobacco. Previously, that tobacco was typically classified as ligero.
